CHROMAKEY PHOTOGRAPHY

Sun Oct 8, 2006, 9:24 PM

description

All my portrait shots done "In Studio" are photographed in front of my 30'x20' green screen. Using the latest in PS software plug-ins, the ability to place my subjects on any background I (or they) chose is virtually unlimited. I have spent months perfecting the technique and I can honestly say I prefer this method to the standard muslin backdrop shots.

My other shots are standard, non-chromakey compositions.

CAMERA: SONY Alpha A-100 DSLR
PRIMARY SOFTWARE: Photoshop CS3 10.0 / Primatte / Ultra Key

NOTE: If anyone is interested in learning more about chromakey photography, drop me a note and I'll be glad to answer any questions.

Thanks very much for the favourite! How are you finding the Sony Alpha range of DSLR?

There are many things I like about the Alpha... the image stabilization can reduce f-stop by 2 in low light, which is great. The lens is good. I usually bump the sharpness up 1 notch "in camera". I am considering upgrading to the a300 soon.
I would recommend it. :)
Yeah I hear good things about Sony range, I've had a go on them but I wasn't sure, think I'm still a Nikon girl. I loved the way it starts to focus when you put you eye to the viewfinder, endless entertainment! When I tried the A300 I didn't think the automatic settings were very good but Manual settings seemed nice.

Ya, like most DSLR's, setting to automatic converts the camera to a "point and shoot"... never really use it. I always shoot shutter priority. Seriously, I too would have chosen Nikon were it not for the image stabilization... that really sold me.
Well Nikon have the Vibration reduction now! It's hard to choose! Have you tried the Alpha 350? Think thats 14 MP! Not bad!
